My love for music sparked when I attended, as a shy 8 years old boy, live concerts in my home town of Milan (Italy). I became a student of Fulvio Luciani, who has fostered my passion for the art of "suonar insieme" and for the violin as a medium for connecting and engaging with people.
Ever since, I could never let go of that 4 -stringed piece of wood: I have worked as a freelance for several orchestras in Europe and in Canada (United Europe Chamber Orchestra, Victoria Symphony and the Orchestre Symphonique de Trois-Rivières, to name a few).
For over a decade, I have been a member of the Vaughan String Quartet, along with my partner in life, cellist Silvia Buttiglione. We have been touring extensively and weaving our sound into the bustling energy of cities like Toronto, Calgary, and New York, as well as into the serene silence of the Northwest Territories and Vancouver Island.
I had the privilege to be artist in residence at The Banff Centre and attended twice the St.Lawrence String Quartet Seminar at Stanford University. In 2021 I obtained my Doctorate in Music Performance at University of Montreal, under the guidance of Claude Richard. 

Having a curious mind, I am also a cell biologist, I have worked as a life science researcher for many years at University of Alberta and McGill University, and I enjoy writing about biology, history of science and climate change.
